Sessions in Stage 1 focus on general information about life at university and introduce students to decision-making skills that can help them decide if university is the right choice for them. Sessions in Stage 2 focus on the essential skills required for successful degree-level study and include, for example:
- Critical Thinking
- Lectures and Note-taking
- Written Assignments and Essays
- Referencing
What does the role of Tutor entail?
As an On Track Tutor you will be expected to deliver the On Track programme as laid out in the On Track Tutor’s Pack. The pack contains guidelines on how to deliver the programme, as well as programme materials, such as handouts, overheads and activities. In addition, you will be expected to share your experiences of university life with the students you work with. For example, any obstacles you encountered while studying and most importantly how you overcame them.
