New Phase of On Track Programme

August 1st marks the beginning of an exciting new phase for the On Track Programme. The new session ushers in changes to the programme’s delivery format, resources and target groups.

Our “2009-10 Strategic Developments” paper outlines the major changes to the programme. The main points to note are as follows:

 

Delivery format

Following evaluation of the two-stage model and feedback on the programme resources we have decided to offer the programme in a variety of delivery models from now on. We will engage with learners and their teachers to design the programme around the needs of particular groups, to ensure that the timing and content of the programme is best suited to the learners who participate in it.

 

Resources

We will be relaunching our website to make it central to classroom delivery, incorporating a dummy Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), online enrolment and evaluation forms, learner and tutor forums and publicly-accessible study skills resources. On Track participants will receive regular e-newsletters after they have gone through the programme to keep them on track.

 

In addition to VLE resources, we will also be launching an employability strand to the programme this year, focussing particularly on interview skills. As will all elements of the programme, learning providers and learners themselves will be able to select these activities from the On Track ‘menu’ if interview skills are likely to be relevant to their learning journeys.

 

Target groups

In addition to HNC, HND and Access students aiming to progress to degree-level study, we will also be offering On Track this session to adults not presently at college but who share the ambition of entering university study. We are also exploring the opportunities to work with workplace learners. For further information on our new target groups please contact the On Track office.
